Job Summary:

Serves as a subject matter expert while developing and updating online Help and planning wizards for Weapon Planning Software. Tests and trouble shoots software developed by Weapon Planning Software team. Provides functional guidance and participates in graphic user interface (GUI) design. Gathers and provides aircrew inputs to weapon planning tools and functionality. Interacts with USAF Program Office and Eglin Test Facility to evaluate potential changes/enhancements to Weapon Planning Software. Participates in studies of new weapons and their planning requirements. Must be able to obtain TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participates as an on-site member of the Weapon Planning Software team.

  • Provides guidance on user interface design and end-user information/mission planning requirements.

  • Team expert on aviation and weapon employment. Writes online help for aircrew end-users.

  • Evaluates potential changes/enhancements in conjunction with technical and USAF Program Office personnel


  • Experience employing precision-guided munitions from fighter or bomber aircraft.

  • Experience with computer-based aircraft mission planning systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of air-to-surface precision-guided weapons, fuses, planning requirements.    

  • USAF Weapons School graduate or other service equivalentpreferred


  • BA / BSRequiredOR in lieu of degree 14+ years experience

  • MA / MSPreferred
