As a member of the courseware project team, use the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process to develop and modify courseware for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Training Change Proposal (TCP) or Formal Course Reviews (FCR). Requires a combination of practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction, adult learning principles, and AFSOC airframes including MC-130H, AC-130J, AC-130W, AC-130U, U-28, PC-12, MC-130J, C-145A, and C-146A. Conduct needs assessment to identify behavioral outcomes, clarify instructional problems, establish goals and objectives, and identify learning environment and learner’s existing knowledge, skills, and abilities. Identify, develop, and evaluate instructional strategies according to the intended behavioral outcomes by domain. Design user interface, apply graphic design, learning objectives, assessment instruments, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, and lesson planning and media selection. Design quizzes, end of course exams, and meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention. Assist with the development, update, and validation of Training Task List (TTL) to ensure all pertinent tasks are identified to meet training objectives. Assist with the development, update, and validation of Syllabi of Instruction (SOI), including Course Lesson Maps, front matter, lesson descriptions, and sync with TTL to achieve required proficiency levels. Create and design course content using eLearning authoring tools. Develop and integrate graphics, video, audio, and animations into curriculum. Review and revise courseware based on SME feedback. Provide training and guidance for instructors that covers curriculum, learning outcomes, method of delivery, and submittal of TCPs. Prepare learners with training on new tools (software and hardware). Conduct small group tryouts to collect feedback and integrate it into the next course draft. Conduct and document formative evaluation during each stage of the ADDIE process. Create summative evaluation documents designed for domain specific criterion-related referenced items and to receive feedback from users. Attend FCR events and guide SMEs in the proper methods to analyze materials for updates to TTL, SOI, and curriculum.
Must have extensive experience with Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, Flash, and HTML5 and basic knowledge of Kenexa, Microsoft Visio Professional, QuestionMark, and SOF Training and Operations Resource Management (STORM).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel desired.
Ability to incorporate interactive courseware (ICW) components of Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) into training products.
Understanding of the application of International Organization for Standards (ISO) into courseware development desired.
Knowledge and understanding of copyright and reproduction restrictions desired.
Must have an active Secret security clearance and knowledge of working in a controlled area and daily use of classified systems to include properly safeguarding, handling, managing, and marking classified in compliance with source documents/security classified guides.
Background in Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) and SCORM desired.
Four years’ instructional design experience and formal training in instructional design and/or adult learning.
Minimum of a BS/BA or higher in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field. Experience may be substituted for formal education.
