Pensacola Bay Support Services, a Joint Venture of IAP Worldwide Services and EMCOR Government Services, has been awarded the Pensacola Base Operations Support Contract.
The Civil Engineering Technician is responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devises approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitors work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.
Essential Job Functions:
Creates design studies and concepts for the strength and economy of structural design which conforms to the needs and requirements of the customer.
Interprets and adapts traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.
Provides civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawing, structural evaluation and design.
Supervises and prepares periodic project inspection reports prior to final acceptance and turnover.
Provides procedural technique systems as required in support of the construction program.
Provides immediate solution of problems at site for on on-going construction issues.
Provides scope of work and quantity survey of proposed projects.
Supports the workforce with structural technical advice and assistance.
Provides studies, designs, and investigations for the development and needs of existing buildings, concerning expansion and/or extension, modification, or alteration of building.
Prepares and maintains as-built drawings.
Reviews and approves project reports and designs.
Ensures that the project is completed on time within the planned budget.
Education & Experience:
Must have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience with five (5) or more years’ experience in the engineering/construction management industry.
Must have experience with the design and supervision of a project with the aid of Auto Cad software, and previous experience with up-grading and maintenance of existing civil facilities.
Must have Civil and Structural Engineering knowledge in both Horizontal and Vertical Constructions.
Knowledge & Skills:
Must have thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques.
Must be proficient in creating designs for local construction contractors to complete and meet the requirements of the client.
Must be capable of complete design services including structural load determination, planning, and siting.
