Veranda of Pensacola Personal Care Assistant in Pensacola, Florida

We are currently in need of full time personal care assistants on our 3 pm to 11 pm shift.

Purpose:

The Personal Care Assistant is responsible to deliver direct service and support to the Assisted Living Residents of Veranda of Pensacola. The PCA assists residents with their daily routines, carries out individual program plans and performs all other duties necessary to meet the individual needs of each resident including but not limited to ADLs, housekeeping, laundry, food service. All job functions are performed with customer service and hospitality as the overall goal to both our residents and coworkers alike.

The Personal Care Assistants schedule is assigned by the Health Care Coordinator. The Veranda of Pensacola has PCAs on site 24/7 and may work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as scheduled. . Additional non-scheduled hours may be required.

Qualifications:

18 years or older High school diploma or equivalent Eligible as determined by FDLE background screen Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLS) Demonstrate ability to complete required documentation and capable of communicating with residents and co-workers Understand and comply the applicable federal and state regulations as it pertains to medication assistance, resident rights and hippa Treat residents and co-workers with dignity and respect in all communications Maintain confidentiality of all resident and resident family information Demonstrate ability to understand the importance of documentation in communication book and daily shift report Actively participate in shift change report at the beginning and end of each shift Complete mandatory garbage/cleaning/laundry tasks as assigned during shift Adheres to company dress code Take steps to minimize safety hazards and prevent further damage. Promptly report any property or equipment in need of repair Complete required orientation and ongoing training to promote personal and professional development Participate in mandatory staff meetings Promote positive and respectful relations with resident, residents family and co-workers Respond in the event of an emergency to protect the health, safety and well-being of the resident Incorporate hospitality into all duties on all shifts Any other duties as assigned by Health Care Coordinator, Assistant Director or Executive Director Other:

Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification Yearly TB clearance Physician Physical clearance upon hire Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Random drug screens will be conducted upon hire, quarterly and as needed Proper uniform and appearance policy must be followed
